Kelly Hancock Shearin, founder and president of Beyond Benefits, Inc

  Kelly Hancock, President and Chief Executive Officer, has more than 20 years of experience with employee benefits including extensive experience with COBRA and FSA administration services. While working for Nashville’s top insurance broker, Crichton Brandon Jackson & Ward, she managed the development of employee benefit services, including COBRA, Section 125, and outsourcing administration services. Until June 2001, she was responsible for sales and service of large accounts, as well as management of the employee benefit division.

In February 2003, she purchased the benefits division and formed her own company Beyond Benefits, Inc. that specializes exclusively in COBRA and Flexible Spending Accounts Administration.

Kelly is a member of the Middle Tennessee Employee Benefits Council, Nashville Chamber of Commerce, NAFE (National Association Female Executive), and the National Association of Professional Benefits Administrators. She is CFCI, Certified in Flexible Compensation Instruction, serves on the board of Cool Springs Christian Ministries, as well as serves on the advisory board of the Nashville Chamber Small Business Division.


 

 

 


  Joy Sullivan is the Flexible Spending Account Administrative Manager of Beyond Benefits, Inc., formerly Crichton-Perry Benefits Services, Inc. She began employment with Crichton, Perry & Brandon in 1995 as a COBRA Customer Service Representative.  She then advanced into Section 125 management.  Her duties now focus primarily on maintaining Section 125 compliance with all clients, communicating legislation to staff and clients, as well as managing the workflow of the entire Flexible Benefits department.

 

She has received credit for numerous courses from the National Registry of CPE Sponsors to continue her education.




 

 

 


  Debra Ramsey is the HR/Compliance Analyst for Beyond Benefits, Inc.  She began employment with BBI in May of 2006.

 

Debra’s duties primarily focus on ensuring the compliance of the company’s COBRA and Flexible Spending Account programs.  She routinely researches, reviews and communicates IRS Revenue rulings, DOL Opinion Letters and future legislation as they relate to business operations, policies and procedures, and overall company compliance.  She also assists management with the HR functions of the company and special projects.

 

Debra comes to us with over 20 years of HR experience in Employee Benefits Administration, Compensation, Recruiting and Staffing.  She received a BS Degree in Business Administration from Middle Tennessee State University and has successfully completed course sponsored by the Certified Employee Benefits Specialist Program and the Health Insurance Association of America.
